This is a photo-etched metal detail set, not a tank model. The add-on set (vol.3) from Aber holds fine photo-etched tool boxes for the Soviet KV-I and KV-II heavy tanks. The metal version has thin walls and true hinges and lids, and looks more realistic than a solid plastic part.
The KV-I and KV-II were Soviet heavy tanks from the start of the Second World War. Boxes for tools and equipment mounted on the fenders and the hull were among the typical external features; they break up the surface of the model and offer room for weathering and wear.
Fold the box parts along the scored lines, bend them and glue them into their three-dimensional shape with cyanoacrylate glue. Work with tweezers and in good light. Degrease the metal and give it a coat of primer before painting.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
