Mr. Color cockpit paint (Nakajima) is the shade of the internal surfaces of Japanese aircraft built by Nakajima. A lacquer paint, 10 ml.
Responsibility details are not available.
The internal surfaces of Japanese aircraft had a greenish to blue-green finish whose tone differed according to the maker of the airframe. This paint matches the version Nakajima used, and it can be told apart from the interior color of other plants by eye alone. On a finished model the cockpit is only partly visible, but that is exactly why it pays to get the shade right: the wrong color catches the eye more than a missing detail.
The base is a lacquer on an organic solvent, and water would only curdle the binder. It can be thinned only with the maker's own thinner, at roughly half to the same volume as the paint. The volume is 10 ml. The dried layer is hard and takes the washes with which details in a cockpit are later picked out.
It pays to paint the belts, buckles and small details only once the base coat has dried and with good lighting, because in a closed cockpit no corrections are possible any more.
How much detail to do in the cockpit depends on whether the canopy will be open. With a closed canopy it pays to concentrate on what will be visible through the glass and merely to suggest the rest.
