A brass photo-etched set of track covers and fenders in 1:35 scale from Voyager Model. The set is meant for the American M4A3 Sherman medium tank of the Second World War and serves to refine and raise the detail of a plastic kit. It is not a kit of the vehicle but an accessory, a detail set that replaces or adds to selected plastic parts with fine photo-etched items. It holds the covers of the upper run of the track (track covers) and the fenders. Both the track covers and the fenders are based on the parts of the Academy kit.
The M4A3 was one of the main production versions of the American M4 Sherman medium tank in the Second World War. It was powered by a Ford GAA V8 gasoline engine and the machine became the backbone of the armored units of the US Army in Europe and in the Pacific. The track covers protected the upper run of the track and went together with the fenders above the running gear.
Carefully separate the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface and clean up the edges. Use a photo-etch bending tool or a metal ruler for the bends, so as to get sharp, straight edges. Glue the parts with cyanoacrylate glue, remove the excess and degrease the joints before spraying. It is best to spray the brass with a primer for better adhesion of the coats that follow.
The photo-etched accessory calls for a matching plastic kit in 1:35 scale, which is not included in the package. Glue, paints and the model itself are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
