Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet river armored gunboat Project 1125 in 1:350 scale from Zvezda. It is a small snap-fit model whose parts click together with no need for glue, so it suits a quick build and beginners. The box contains the boat itself and accessories for the wargame system, and the model can of course be painted and weathered in the usual way.
The Project 1125 armored gunboats were small, shallow-draft river vessels of the Soviet Navy, built from the 1930s. They carried a rotating gun turret taken from tanks (the 76 mm turret from the T-28 tank, for instance) and supplementary armament including machine guns and a rocket launcher. They were used on rivers and in coastal waters in the Second World War for fire support of ground units and for ferrying troops.
The parts hold together without glue, but it is still advisable to secure the joints with a spot of cement for plastic for strength. Clean the boat and apply a primer before painting. Put the paint on with an airbrush or a brush, and bring the armor to life with a dry brush and chipping. Mud and dust on the hull and the deck will underline the combat use of a river vessel.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
