Injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian battleship Knyaz Suvorov in 1:350 scale from Zvezda. The ship belonged to the Borodino class and became famous as flagship of the 2nd Pacific Squadron at the time of the Russo-Japanese War. The kit captures the characteristic silhouette of a pre-dreadnought with a pair of heavy gun turrets and a richly broken-up superstructure. A decal sheet is in the package; the exact contents of the package and the parts count are not stated here.
Knyaz Suvorov was one of the battleships of the Borodino class, built for imperial Russia at the beginning of the 20th century. As flagship of the 2nd Pacific Squadron under the command of Vice Admiral Rozhestvensky she made the long voyage from the Baltic to the Far East, and in May 1905 she became one of the main targets at the Battle of Tsushima, where she was sunk after a heavy fight. Her main armament was 305 mm guns in two twin turrets.
Depending on the form, the hull can be built as a full hull on a stand. Paint and highlight the deck and the superstructure before the final assembly, and glue the fine elements, the yards and the masts carefully. Unify the whole with primer and spray with an airbrush; the scheme of the period is a black hull with ocher superstructure. Bring out the panel lines and the detail with a wash and add weathering suited to a long voyage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
