Responsibility details are not available.
This resin kit captures the Union ironclad gunboat USS Cairo in 1:350 scale. It is a resin model from the Czech manufacturer ROP, suited to modelers with experience of casting and gluing resin. The exact contents of the package and the number of parts follow the actual delivery.
USS Cairo was the lead ship of the City class, a series of ironclad gunboats built for service on the rivers during the American Civil War. She was commissioned early in 1862 and operated with the Mississippi River Squadron. She went down in history on December 12, 1862, when as the first ironclad warship sunk by an electrically detonated mine she settled on the bottom of the Yazoo River. The wreck was later raised and is on display in the Vicksburg military park.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks carefully and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The model suits a base or a water setting, and fine elements such as the funnels and the casemate sides call for a steady hand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
