This set is NOT an aircraft model but a resin detail accessory intended for Grumman F-11 Tiger models in 1:48 scale. The cast wheels replace the plastic parts with more faithful tires and cleanly rendered hubs. The set suits older toolings of this subject, on which small parts tend to be simplified, and it is intended for more experienced modelers.
The F-11 Tiger was a carrier fighter of the US Navy and its landing gear with the wheels is clearly visible on a finished model. Resin tires have a realistic tread and crisper hub detail than injection-molded plastic, which noticeably lifts the overall impression of a standing model. The parts are designed as a direct replacement.
Wash the wheels free of mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); sand while protecting your airways. Choose a dark gray shade for the tires, separate the hubs with a mask or a brush and add fine weathering.
