Hauler 1:48 photo-etched grilles for the Königstiger with the Porsche turret replace the coarsely molded plastic cooling grilles on the engine deck of a model. It is an aftermarket accessory, not a kit.

A fret of photo-etched grilles meant for the engine deck of the model of the German Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. B heavy tank with the early Porsche turret in 1:48 scale. The set is cut for a specific Tamiya kit and replaces the plastic parts, which are always needlessly thick from production. The model is not included in the package.
The cooling grilles are one of the few places on a model of a tank that everyone looks at from above - and at the same time the place where plastic loses most. On the real vehicle it is thin sheet and mesh with visible gaps, whereas a casting offers only a suggested engraving. Photo-etch evens that out: the grille gets real openings and a shadow opens up beneath it, which gives the engine compartment depth.
First carefully mill or cut out the plastic grille and clean the opening up with a file, so that the photo-etch sits level. It pays to glue a piece of blackened card under the grille, or to paint the part from the inside in a very dark shade - because from above you are looking into an empty hull. Glue spot by spot with super glue around the edge, not over the whole area, or the glue will run into the openings. Degrease the brass and spray it with a primer for metal. When painting, spray at a sharp angle from above so that the openings do not fill in, and build the weathering with pigment rather than with a thick wash.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
