An add-on detail set from FineMolds in 1:700 scale. It holds fine castings of fairleads and deck fittings for the mooring and handling lines of models of Japanese warships. It is not a ship model but an accessory that gives the deck true equipment.
Fairleads and line guides were part of the basic deck equipment of every warship. They served to lead the anchor, mooring and towing lines so that they did not chafe against the edge of the deck. The Imperial Japanese Navy used them on vessels of all sizes, from destroyers to battleships.
Separate the small parts from the casting blocks, wash them free of mold release agent and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Given the small size of the parts, tweezers and a magnifier come in handy. Paint them together with the deck, and if you like pick them out gently with a wash.
This is an add-on set of deck fittings, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
