This item is an add-on detail set from FineMolds in 1:700 scale. It holds fine radar antennas for fitting on the superstructures and masts of models of Japanese warships. It is not a stand-alone ship model but an accessory that replaces the coarse plastic parts from ordinary kits with more precise castings.
During the Second World War the Imperial Japanese Navy fitted radars for detecting air as well as surface targets on its vessels. Particularly characteristic were the mattress and frame antennas, which appeared on the bridges, masts and conning towers of battleships, cruisers and smaller vessels in the later part of the war.
Separate the parts carefully from the casting blocks, wash them free of mold release agent residue and glue them with cyanoacrylate (super glue). We recommend a base of primer and painting with an airbrush in shades matching the given ship. Protect the fine antennas while handling them, because they are prone to bending.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and glue and paints are not included in the package.
