Fujimi — wooden deck for IJN Musashi in the Leyte version, 1:700 is a self-adhesive sheet imitating a wooden deck that gives the model of the famous Japanese battleship a realistic look without laborious painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on from the Japanese manufacturer Fujimi for the model of the battleship Musashi in 1:700 scale in the form matching the Battle of Leyte. The self-adhesive sheet with a wooden deck pattern is simply stuck onto the deck of the model and replaces the drawn-out painting and shading of the planks. It is intended above all for Fujimi kits.
Musashi, the sister ship of the famous Yamato, was among the largest and most heavily armed battleships in history. She carried nine 46 cm guns and extensive anti-aircraft armament. She was sunk on 24 October 1944 in the Sibuyan Sea during the Battle of Leyte after repeated raids by American carrier aircraft. It is this late form of the ship that the Leyte version captures and that the deck is made for.
Clean and degrease the deck of the model before sticking the sheet down. Lay the sheet on gradually from one edge and push the air bubbles out with a soft spreader or with your finger through a piece of cloth. Place the cut-outs for the superstructures and the armament with tweezers. It is more convenient to fit the superstructures only after the deck is laid.
This is an add-on to a model, not a standalone kit. The base ship model is not included in the package.
