Brengun 1:72 resin replacement wheels for the Vought F4U Corsair with a longitudinally ribbed tread. An aftermarket accessory for a plastic kit, not an aircraft model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Cast resin wheels in 1:72 scale intended to replace the plastic wheels from the kit of the carrier-based fighter Vought F4U Corsair. The package contains only this accessory; the base model is sold separately. The ribbed pattern formed by longitudinal grooves is one of the treads that appeared on the tires of American aircraft of that time, and within the range it can be chosen according to which machine you are building.
Replacing the wheels is done in a few minutes, but the result stands or falls on the painting. A tire painted pure black looks like a hole in a photograph; use a dark neutral gray and divide the shade further, with the contact patch a little lighter and the sidewalls darker. Separate the hub with a mask or a circle template, or spray it separately and glue it on once it has dried. The longitudinal grooves come out nicely with a dry brush drawn along the ribs and a light dust pigment at the contact patch.
Resin castings are washed in lukewarm soapy water before any work, so that the mold release disappears from the surface. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw, level the surface with wet abrasive paper and do not inhale the sanding dust. They are glued exclusively with cyanoacrylate or epoxy; cement for polystyrene does not react with resin. Before gluing, try the wheel dry in the landing gear leg and adjust the seating if necessary, so that the model stands level.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
