A dark version of the lightweight six-point assembly, with artwork including the crotch straps and the fittings. Sized for 1:24 scale car models.

The difference from a four-point set lies in the pair of crotch straps. The lap section on its own does not stop the driver sliding forward under it in a sharp deceleration, a phenomenon known in safety practice as submarining. Two straps led between the legs to the lower anchorages make that movement impossible, and only then does the whole assembly hold as it should. For that reason the six-point arrangement became the norm in racing that is meant seriously.
The British maker TRS builds the Superlite line as a lightweight variant intended for places where every gram counts. Dark webbing is the most ordered choice in it, because it competes neither with the decoration of the car nor with the color of the seat.
Six straps mean six bands which have to be arranged in a small space so that they do not cross each other nonsensically. A finished print with a raised surface saves that work: the artwork is laid out in advance and the webbing gains a thickness that paint alone never has. The seat comes from the kit and the sheet is applied according to the enclosed instructions.
Sometimes you will also come across a five-point variant with a single central strap instead of a pair. It was used earlier and today you will meet it mainly in older machines and in some off-road specials. The difference is clearly visible on a model, so if you are building a car after a particular photograph it is worth checking the number of lower straps in advance. On racing cars of the last few decades a six-point version is far more likely.
