This is a color 3D decal from Quinta Studio in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit and not etch: it is raised, fully colored interior detail printed on backing decal paper, transferred onto the model by soaking in water. The set is meant to improve the cab of a model of the German Mercedes-Benz L3000 truck and replaces laborious masking and painting of the instruments, the controls and the upholstery. The decals are shaped for the parts of the ICM kit.
The Mercedes-Benz L3000 was a three-ton truck used by the German army in the Second World War to carry personnel and materiel and also as a chassis for special bodies. Its cab has the typical instruments of the day and a simple working interior, which this set reproduces faithfully.
Go over the surfaces of the cab beforehand with a gloss clear coat (Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22) and let them dry. Cut the part out of the sheet, soak it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the backing paper into place with tweezers. The part has no adhesive layer of its own and holds on the gloss coat; on a complex surface a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as their chemistry attacks the printed resin. At the end the interior can be evened out with a matte coat.
This is an accessory, not a vehicle model. The kit itself and the paints are not included in the package.
