A set for a model of the American large cruiser Alaska CB-1 in 1:350 scale: a wooden deck, masking templates and photo-etched parts, prepared for the Hobby Boss 86513 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Alaska with the hull number CB-1 was an American warship, listed as a large cruiser and the first of her kind. She was an unusually long ship with an outline close to a battleship, employed at the close of the Second World War in the Pacific. Her extensive decks and richly detailed superstructures are a rewarding place for detailing on a model.
Three accessories for a model in 1:350 scale, prepared according to the Hobby Boss kit with kit number 86513. The wooden deck gives the surface a natural grain and shade that are hard to achieve by painting plastic. The masking templates bound the areas that are to stay in a different shade after spraying. The photo-etched parts supply thin features that cannot be made of plastic, that is above all railings and grating.
First lay the deck on dry and check the fit; the surface has to be flat, clean and degreased. Stick the masks on before spraying, press the edges down and take them off carefully once the paint has dried. Cut the photo-etched parts off the carrier sheet with sharp scissors, fold them over a straight edge or in a bending tool and glue them with super glue applied in a tiny amount. Wash and degrease the etch before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold.
The ship kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
