This set is an accessory for a model of the American battleship Missouri in 1:350 scale, not a kit of the ship. What sets it apart from the identically named variant with the Advanced qualifier is precisely that this is the basic version; compare the contents of the two variants against the details on their boxes. The deck is stained in the 20B shade, that is, in a period blue-gray tone. The set is cut for the kit from Tamiya.
USS Missouri BB-63 was one of the American fast battleships of the Iowa class. She carried main armament of 406 mm caliber in three triple turrets, and in 1945 she had a very densely packed light anti-aircraft armament along the whole length of her superstructure. The configuration in the name therefore matches the end of the war, not the later modernizations that changed the ship's silhouette.
Finish painting the hull first and only then deal with the deck. Lay it on dry, check the cutouts around the turrets and superstructure and press it down progressively from the center toward the edges. Cut the photo-etched parts off with a scalpel on a hard surface, and make the bends in a bender or between two blades. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) in minute amounts applied with a pin. Leave the railings and fine antennas until the very end of the build, so that they survive handling the model.
