A set of two ACES II ejection seats from the Czech maker Aires in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a resin accessory: a pair of faithfully cast seats in cast resin, as a rule complemented by photo-etch (harness straps and small details). The seats replace the simplified plastic parts in the cockpit.
The ACES II ejection seat was used in a whole range of American combat aircraft, among them the A-10, the F-15 and the F-16. The resin castings bring the fine structure of the cushions, handles and mechanisms that a plastic part from the box cannot capture. The set contains two seats. Before buying, check that they match the seat version in your particular model.
Separate the seats from the casting blocks, wash them to remove mold release residue and degrease them. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The photo-etched harness straps are shaped and painted. The detail shows best on a model with the canopy open.
A cockpit accessory, not a stand-alone model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
