A set of six antenna bases for the British Wireless Set No. 19 radio in 1:48 scale from CMK. Small separate parts for modelers who want more worked-out equipment.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Wireless Set No. 19 was a British military radio used during the Second World War. The antenna was fixed to it through a solid base, which held the rod and carried the signal to it. On a model it is a small thing the size of a grain, but details like this are exactly what decides whether the equipment looks convincing. The set is in 1:48 scale and is made by CMK.
The package holds six pieces of the antenna base. The higher count is useful for two reasons: you can fit out several models at once and still have a reserve if a small part is damaged during cutting or sanding. The parts are separate, so you can place them exactly where they belong according to the documentation and are not tied to the shape a kit offers.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the shape stays crisp. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint may not hold. Work with tweezers over a tray with a raised rim, because a part of this size is searched for in vain on the floor. Cyanoacrylate applied in a minute quantity with the tip of a toothpick suits the gluing. The particular preparation procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For modelers who build vehicles equipped with the British Wireless Set No. 19 radio and want the antenna base as a separate, accurately shaped part. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
