The thousand-pound bomb 1:48 MK-83 with conical fin from the range of AMMO of Mig Jimenez, armament for models of combat aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The middle one of the heavy American unguided bombs, popular mainly with naval aviation, in the basic form with a conical extension. The set extends the armament of a model that is already standing on its landing gear.
The MK-83 fills the gap between the most used five-hundred-pound bomb and the heaviest member of the series. The land-based air arm reached for it less, but with carrier squadrons it caught on: it offers a noticeably stronger effect than the lighter calibers, yet it does not take up as much carrying capacity as a two-thousand-pound charge, so more of them fit under the wings. The same body served as the basis for guided kits as well, whether with a laser or a satellite attachment. A conical tail without retarding surfaces matches a classic ballistic release from a safe altitude.
First check whether the mating surface corresponds to the rack on your model, and level it with a file if need be. Live rounds usually wore an olive or gray coat with colored bands, training ones blue. Lay the shade over a primer, or every transition will show on the smooth cylinder. Hang the assembly only right at the end, so that it is not damaged while the model is being handled.
The goods come in a raw state without paint; the carrying kit and paints have to be bought separately.
