A set of small fasteners for modelers: screws with a slot in a larger raised head. It is neither a kit nor an accessory for one particular car – it is material that replaces the vague raised lumps on the plastic with the real shape of a screw. The package carries 500 parts: 5 sizes of a hundred pieces each, in the 0.6 to 1.5 mm range. The parts are made by 3D printing, so they have a clean head with no parting line. The figure in the name is the size of the part in millimeters, not a scale.

How this set differs

The range of sizes here is the smaller one. The manufacturer makes the same head in the 1.75 to 2.5 mm range as well, under the part number DCL-PAR147, so choose the size according to what you are building. What distinguishes this set is the larger raised head with a slot. The manufacturer runs a whole range of fasteners in which the individual sets differ only in the type of head and the range of sizes, so before buying compare the manufacturer's part number, not just the name.

Use

• Pick the part up with tweezers, pieces this small get lost in your fingers
• Pre-drill a hole in the plastic to the diameter of the shank and seat the part in it
• Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, ordinary cement for plastic will not bond these parts
• Lay down a primer before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold
• Choose the size from a photograph of the machine you are building
