An injection-molded plastic kit of the American single-engine Convair F-106A Delta Dart interceptor in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. It is a new tool with fine engraved detail; the box contains clear plastic for the cockpit glazing and decals for several marking options. Its hallmarks are the clean delta wing and the slender fuselage with side air intakes.
The Convair F-106 Delta Dart was an American supersonic Cold War interceptor developed to defend North American airspace. It was marked by its large delta wing, its high speed and the guided missiles carried in a weapons bay under the fuselage. In its day it was among the fastest single-engine fighters, and in the interceptor role it served for many years as the backbone of continental air defense.
Use liquid polystyrene cement and finish and paint the cockpit before the fuselage is closed up. Mask the canopy glazing because of the sharp frames. Apply a primer before painting and lay the colors down with an airbrush; on natural metal schemes, metallizer paints over a smooth, polished base work well. Take care to work the joints of the large delta wing in cleanly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
