A resin Daimler-Benz DB 601A engine set in 1:72 scale from Aires. A detailed casting of the powerplant as an accessory for a kit, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin engine set capturing the German Daimler-Benz DB 601A aero powerplant in 1:72 scale from Aires. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for improving a plastic kit of the matching type. The set lets you open up the engine bay and display a faithfully cast engine block with its accessories in place of the simplified dummy from the box.
The DB 601 was a liquid-cooled inverted V12 with direct fuel injection. The A version was among the earlier forms of this line and powered, among others, the early versions of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter and the twin-engine Bf 110 at the start of the Second World War.
Wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, separate them from the casting blocks and dry-fit them; opening the engine panels usually calls for reworking the plastic parts of the kit. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways while sanding resin. The busy engine comes out once painted with an airbrush, drybrushed and brought up with a wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
