This aftermarket 3D printed resin set in 1:72 scale represents the PTB-550 external fuel tank used on the Kamov Ka-52 helicopter. It is not a model but an external accessory for detailing kits. The 3D printing gives a clean shape to the tank body and fine surface detail.
The PTB-550 is an external fuel tank that extends the range of the aircraft carrying it. On attack helicopters such as the Ka-52 it is hung on the wing pylons and used above all on ferry flights and on missions with a longer range. An accurate tank completes a realistic load configuration.
Separate the parts from the supports, wash and degrease them, and bond them with super glue. Sand with respiratory protection. Match the tank to the color scheme of the aircraft carrying it, bring up the attachments and seams with a fine wash and add light traces of service wear.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
