The FAB-250 aircraft bombs in 1:72 scale are a cast pair of Soviet bombs of the 250 kilogram class, which the modeler hangs under the wing of a ground-attack aircraft or a bomber.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from the 77propeller brand holds two cast bombs of the 250 kilogram weight class of the kind that Soviet ground-attack and bombing aircraft of the Second World War carried. This is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory with which the coarser plastic bombs from the box are replaced or empty pylons are filled. Fidelity of shape and the sharp edges of the fins are the main thing cast munitions are reached for.
The abbreviation FAB designates a high-explosive fragmentation aircraft bomb, and the figure after it gives the weight class in kilograms. A bomb of this weight class was among the means most frequently used by the Soviet Air Force against fortified positions, transport junctions and concentrated vehicles. It was carried by Petlyakov Pe-2s, Ilyushin Il-4s and Il-2 ground-attack aircraft in the configuration with a larger load; smaller machines took it one at a time, medium bombers several at once.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, so that no release layer from the mold stays on the surface. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a cutting disc, not with pliers, and level the surface with an abrasive sponge; protect your airways when sanding resin. The joint with the pylon is held by super glue. Begin the finish with primer, and only then come the dark olive and the colored bands around the body of the bomb.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
