A resin set of replacement wheels with the characteristic diamond-shaped tire tread pattern (the so-called diamond tread) for models of the P-51D Mustang in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit of the airplane but an accessory that replaces the plastic wheels from the box with a more faithful casting with a fine tire pattern and detail on the rim.
The North American P-51D Mustang was one of the most successful American fighters of the Second World War. Thanks to its Packard Merlin engine and its great range it escorted bombers deep over enemy territory. Wheels with the period tread pattern are a small detail, but one that is clearly visible on a model.
Wash the parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the areas with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The wheels can be painted separately from the model; separate the rim and the tire with a mask or a careful brush, and a patina of dust will bring out the tread pattern.
This is an accessory set, not a complete model. The basic kit and the paints are not included in the package.
