An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian battleship Sevastopol in 1:350 from the maker Zvezda. The real subject is the first Russian dreadnought of the Gangut class from the period before the First World War. The package contains parts for the full hull, decals, printed flags and a display stand. The model captures the distinctive silhouette with a long low hull and four triple gun turrets spread along the whole length of the deck.
The Sevastopol was the first completed ship of the Gangut class, the very first Russian dreadnoughts. She was armed with twelve 305 mm guns in four triple turrets, completed by a numerous 120 mm anti-torpedo battery. The ship was built at the Baltic Shipyard in St Petersburg and entered service in 1914. She served through both world wars and is among the significant vessels of the Russian and Soviet navies.
Glue the plastic with a thin cement and build in subassemblies. It is a good idea to stiffen the long hull and glue it in one plane, so that it does not bow. Lay on a primer before finishing and lay the paints on with an airbrush. Bring out the panel lines and the riveting with a darker line and enliven the sides of the hull with restrained weathering. Fine-tune the turrets and the boats and fit them at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
