Two quite different purposes meet in this ratio. One is naval: sets of Japanese carrier aircraft intended to populate the deck of a warship model, supplied several airframes to a pack. The other is civil, in the shape of a compact Boeing 747-200 that works as a standalone miniature. Either way the aircraft measure only a few centimetres, and that is the point. A handful of them transforms an empty flight deck, or adds an undemanding small subject to a collection that has run out of shelf.
Air groups in the most widely used naval ratio are listed under 1:700 aircraft sets, while larger deck aircraft for big warship kits sit under 1:350 aircraft sets. For small aircraft meant to be displayed in their own right, with a far broader subject list, look at 1:144 aircraft kits.
