A turned metal 120 mm L/55 gun barrel from Aber for the large 1:16 Leopard 2A7 tank model. It replaces the plastic part and does away with the mold seam and the oval cross section.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely turned replacement gun barrel from the Polish brand Aber, intended to be swapped for the plastic part on the large 1:16 model of the German Leopard 2 tank in the A7 version. The metal barrel has a perfectly circular cross section along its whole length, no seam line from two halves and a drilled-out muzzle.
The Leopard 2 carries a Rheinmetall 120 mm smoothbore gun. The older versions had the shorter L/44; from the A6 variant the longer L/55 is fitted, which gives the round a higher muzzle velocity. The A7 version is a newer German upgrade standard with reinforced protection and equipment for fighting in built-up areas. The longer slender barrel is the most conspicuous recognition feature of this machine, and it is exactly there that the shortcomings of an injection-molded part show up most on a model.
Cut the plastic barrel off where it emerges from the mantlet and clean the opening up with a round file. The metal is seated dry for as long as the axis is true; then a drop of cyanoacrylate glue or two-part resin is enough. Degrease the metal before painting and use a metal primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the polished surface.
It is a stand-alone replacement part, not a whole tank model. Paints and glue are not supplied with it.
