A combined interior set for the 1966 Ford GT40 Mark II in 1:24 scale. It contains color 3D decals, 3D-printed resin parts and metal foil labels, and it is made for the Meng kits.

The Ford GT40 Mark II is the version with which Ford won the twenty-four-hour race at Le Mans in 1966 and took the first three places. Compared with the earlier GT40s it received a stronger seven-liter V8 and with it a strengthened drivetrain that had to survive such power for the whole race. The interior stayed purely functional: a bare shell, bulkheads, a fire system and the instruments gathered into a simple panel.
The set brings together three different kinds of element. Color 3D decals cover the interior surfaces, 3D-printed resin parts add three-dimensional details and metal foil labels serve as small metallic bright elements. It is made for the Ford GT40 kits by Meng in 1:24 scale.
Quinta decals are printed on a decal backing paper and have no adhesive layer of their own. Cut the part from the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slide it off the paper onto a painted surface coated with a gloss varnish such as Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22, because it is the gloss that holds it; on a broken surface a drop of super glue helps. Do not use a decal softener or setter, as their chemistry attacks the printed resin. Lay larger elements down from one edge so that no air is trapped under them.
The printed resin parts need a different preparation. First the print supports are removed from the part, the marks left behind are sanded and the surface is cleaned of print resin residue. They are not polystyrene, so they are bonded with super glue. The metal foil labels go onto the finished surface, as the last of the work in the cockpit.
The set belongs to modelers who are building the GT40 in 1:24 scale and want the interior on the level of the rest of the car, without having to paint the instrument lettering with a brush.
