A package of two pieces of the tactical B43 bomb in version one, worked up for large-format aircraft models.
Responsibility details are not available.
If you collect the stores of American combat aircraft of the Cold War, you will run into the B43 series sooner or later. It was built in thousands, went through a whole palette of carriers from carrier-based attack machines through fighter-bombers to the heavy machines of the strategic air force, and the individual versions differed mainly in what was hidden in the tail module. From outside the recognition mark stays a slender cigar with a sharp transition into a cylindrical tail.
This particular version carries a one in its designation. For a modeler that means there is no need to puzzle over reworking the tail section, because the shape matches precisely this form of the weapon. According to the number given, the package carries two pieces, that is a pair for symmetrical hanging.
Where to put it: under the fuselage or under the inner racks, or else on an ordnance trolley in a scene with ground crew. In the large scale even small fittings and the joints of the modules stand out.
A building recommendation: first offer the parts up dry to the racks of the kit and check the spacing of the lugs. Weapons of this type hung close to the fuselage and even a deviation of a millimeter shows on a finished model as the whole load tilting.
For collectors of armament: the brand covers the whole range of stores of one period, so a display case can be put together with comparably worked weapons across types. A uniform level of detail matters more than it seems; a single coarser piece on an otherwise carefully finished machine draws attention to itself. That is exactly why it pays to replace the whole load at once, not just one item.
