The decal sheet 1:32 BAe Hawk T.1A XX159/XX219/XX261 30th Anniversary of the Hawk, 1974-2004 carries markings for the thirtieth anniversary of the type in service.
Responsibility details are not available.
Xtradecal prepared this sheet to mark the thirty years the British Hawk trainer spent in service between 1974 and 2004. The name gives three specific fuselage numbers the markings are devoted to. The package contains printed decals, not model parts.
The Hawk prototype first took to the air in 1974 and the aircraft quickly became the backbone of advanced pilot training in the Royal Air Force. The armed modification designated T.1A came later. For round anniversaries it is the custom in British squadrons to spray one or several aircraft in a special, strongly colored coat that stands out from the ordinary gray camouflage and disappears again after the season. Models of such machines are rewarding display subjects, because they draw the eye even among a row of otherwise inconspicuous gray aircraft.
Collectors of British postwar aircraft and anyone who wants a machine in an unusual anniversary finish in a large scale. Paints and glue are not included.
