A resin aftermarket set imitating the improvised protective armor of sandbags that Sherman crews commonly added to the front and the sides of the hull. It is not a model but detail cladding: the resin parts have a faithful fabric texture and an irregular arrangement of the bags, and they are fitted onto a finished hull.
Sandbags were a widespread field modification of M4 Sherman tanks in Western Europe in 1944 and 1945. They were meant to dampen the effect of shaped-charge ammunition and gave every vehicle an individual look.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways when sanding. Check the fit on the particular hull before mounting; bring out the fabric texture with drybrushing and pigments.
This is a detail accessory, not a tank model. The paints, the glue and the kit are not included in the package.
