An injection-molded plastic kit of the South African Marmon-Herrington Mk.I reconnaissance armored car in 1:35 scale from IBG Models. The model captures the initial version of the family with the longer wheelbase and it can be built with the doors and hatches open so that the detailed interior shows. Photo-etched parts are usually included in the box. Check the exact contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Marmon-Herrington was an armored car built in the Union of South Africa and used by British and Allied forces during the Second World War. It was based on a Ford truck chassis, fitted with a drivetrain from the American Marmon-Herrington company, an armored body of South African manufacture and British armament. The Mk.I was the initial version built on the longer chassis and served for reconnaissance and patrol work.
It pays to paint and assemble the interior before you cover it, because on a model with the doors open it is clearly visible. Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue. The vehicles wore khaki and desert shades; once sprayed, bring out the rivets and the details with a wash and add dust pigments on the chassis and the wheels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
