A detail set from the Polish maker MASTER in 1:350 scale. It holds precisely turned metal barrels of the French 90 mm training gun of the Model 1935 pattern. This weapon was used on the French battleships of the Richelieu and Dunkerque classes. It is not a model of a ship or of a gun on its own but an accessory that replaces the original plastic barrels with more faithful metal parts.
Turned metal barrels have a perfectly straight axis, a fine profile and a sharply rendered muzzle that injection-molded plastic cannot manage. On models of large warships the secondary and anti-aircraft guns are among the most conspicuous details of the deck, so quality metal barrels markedly raise the realism of the whole.
Deburr the metal barrels and degrease them before gluing, so that both the paint and the glue hold well. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate), or with a drop of epoxy for a firmer joint. Before final assembly, test the fit into the mounts and the turrets on the model. Handle the small parts with tweezers so that they do not get lost.
This is an accessory detail set, not a model of a ship. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
