A pre-painted color photo-etched cockpit accessory for the Polish PZL P.23 Karas aircraft in 1:48 scale from Yahu Models. It is not an aircraft model but a finished instrument panel that replaces the plastic or decal panel from the kit in the cockpit. The part is multi-layered, with fine instruments, and is already painted including the dial faces; gloss varnish on the glass imitates the cover glasses of the instruments. The panel is prepared for the PZL P.23 Karas kit in this scale from Mirage Hobby.
The panel is fitted into the cockpit in place of the part from the kit, which does away with the laborious painting of the individual instruments. Before gluing it is usually enough to try the part for fit and, if need be, to trim it slightly, because the cockpits of different kits differ a little in shape. It is glued with a small amount of cyanoacrylate.
The PZL P.23 Karas was a Polish single-engine light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft of the 1930s, used by the Polish Air Force during the campaign of September 1939. It was an all-metal low-wing monoplane with a crew of three.
This is a cockpit accessory, not a model in its own right. The aircraft kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
