An injection-molded plastic kit of a modern American guided missile destroyer in 1:700 scale. The upper part of the hull is shaped by a multi-directionally split mold, the sonar dome is a separate part and there is a choice of a full-hull or a waterline form. The box holds an SH-60B helicopter, a stand and a nameplate.
USS Forrest Sherman belongs to the Flight IIA subversion of the Arleigh Burke class, which is distinguished from the older ships by two hangars for shipboard helicopters at the stern. She entered service in 2006 and is named after an admiral who led the US Navy at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s. The combat value is set by the Aegis system with its large flat arrays on the superstructure, the vertical launching cells and the gun on the bow.
Make the choice between the stand and the waterline plate before you start gluing the hull. The uniform gray of modern ships invites a dull result, so distinguish the shade of the deck from the sides and lightly bring out the vertical seams and the drainage streaks.
