Colored three-dimensional interior elements by Kelik for the Convair F-106A Delta Dart interceptor in 1:72 scale, laid out for the Meng kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Convair F-106A Delta Dart was an American single-seat interceptor with a large delta wing that provided air defense for the United States for many years. The cockpit, with its view forward and upward, is easy to see on a model, especially if you build it with the canopy slid back.
The set brings colored three-dimensional elements for the pilot's compartment: an instrument panel with drawn dials, the side control consoles, the seat upholstery and harness belts and other small cockpit details. The elements have a thickness of their own, so once seated they stand above the surface and gain a depth that flat printing cannot achieve. The shapes and the spacing are matched to the Meng kit in 1:72 scale.
The way they are applied differs from range to range, so follow the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the set before you apply them. First remove any flash from the surfaces in the cockpit, level them and degrease them so that the element sits down over its whole area. Work with tweezers, offer the element up dry first and only then press it down with a soft cotton bud.
The set is meant for the modeler who wants legible instruments in the cockpit without painting the dials by hand. The result is even and the work is considerably faster than painting the details with a brush. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
