An injection-molded plastic kit of the F-4E Phantom II jet fighter-bomber in US Air Force configuration, in 1:72 scale from the Japanese maker Hasegawa. The model has finely engraved surface detail, a well-worked cockpit and clear parts. The box holds plastic sprues, a clear sprue and a decal sheet.
The F-4E was one of the most widespread versions of the legendary Phantom II. Compared with the older types it received a built-in 20 mm rotary cannon and leading-edge slats on the wings for better agility. This two-seat, twin-engine machine served with the US Air Force and with a number of allies as a multi-role fighter and attack aircraft for decades.
Assemble and paint the cockpit before closing up the fuselage. Expect to sand the seam along the spine and to adjust the joints at the engine air intakes. A primer, thin coats of paint from an airbrush and picked-out panel lines all work well. Apply the decals over a gloss coat, and a fine wash will complete the weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
