Space is a modern interior detail set in 1:72 scale from Eduard for the kit of the Westland Wessex HC.2 helicopter from Airfix. It is not a model but an accessory — to build it you need the base injection-molded Airfix Wessex HC.2 kit. The set combines 3D-printed colored decals (for faithful instrument panels and cockpit detail) with steel (STEEL) photo-etch, for instance seat belts.
The 3D-printed colored decals give the instrument panels and the side consoles a three-dimensional, layered look with legible dials that a decal on its own cannot achieve. The steel photo-etch adds springy, realistic-looking seat belts and other fine interior elements. The combination lifts the look of an open cockpit considerably.
The 3D decals are applied much like ordinary decals — lift them off the backing in water and transfer them onto the part; they are not varnished over, so that they keep their color and sheen. Omit the decal softener altogether — it attacks the printed resin. Bend the steel belts over a sharp edge or in a bending tool and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Work with tweezers and in good light, as the parts are small.
This is an interior detail set (an accessory), not a model in its own right. The base Airfix Wessex HC.2 kit is needed for the build and is not included in the package. Glue and paints are not included.
