CL08 Nuts White Base Color Gloss

The color

A paint from the CL range of Mr.Color. The manufacturer's part number is CL08 and the name of the shade is Nuts White, that is a white with a warm cast. The qualifier Base Color places it among the base shades: it is applied as the first covering layer, and shading, highlighting and any overcoat come only after it. The finish is gloss, so once dry the surface reflects light.

Working with the paint

Stir the contents of the bottle properly before use, as the pigment settles to the bottom. White shades are among the poorest covering ones, so reckon with three thin coats and let the paint set between them; one thick coat floods the fine shapes and traces of the brush will stay in it. Choose a light and above all uniform base, because every stain and every darker transition shows through white. It is thinned with the thinner meant for the Mr.Color range, not with water, and the same thinner is used to clean the brush and the airbrush straight after the work.

Where the color is used

A warm white suits everywhere a purely cold white would look harsh: the light parts of the clothing of figures, fabric, ceramics or the light areas of accessories. It also serves well as a base under light and bright shades, which it gives the covering foundation they need. Try the shade on an offcut of plastic first and judge it in daylight.

Terms of supply

The package holds the paint only. The thinner, the brushes, the airbrushes and a model or a figure are not part of it, unless stated otherwise. Work in a well-ventilated room and store the paint carefully closed and out of the reach of children.
