Golden Flesh — an AK interactive acrylic paint, the Artistic Dense line

Golden Flesh is a flesh shade shifted toward the warm, that is toward golden ocher tones. In a flesh range it takes the role of a base or a transition tone: it is darker and deeper than the light flesh colors, so tanned skin, faces in warm light or the transition between shadow and light are built well with it. It is an acrylic paint thinnable with water, not a lacquer or an enamel.

Use

• The base tone of tanned flesh and of the middle areas of a face, onto which the lighter flesh shades then go.
• Layering flesh: work from the darker tone to the light one, thin the paint and apply it in thin layers. Transitions are made by repetition, not in one stroke.
• Wet into wet: if you want to join the tones directly on the figure, extend the open time with a medium or a drying retarder from the same line and work on a wet palette.
• Mixing: with yellow and ocher tones it heads toward warmer flesh, with red-brown ones toward shadows, with light flesh shades toward highlights.
• Over a dark base apply the paint rather thicker and in several layers; thinned it would be lost in the dark base.

Who it is for

For painters of figures, historical and fantasy alike, who build flesh from several tones instead of a single color. The line is built for that — it is worked with a brush, on a small format and in layers. Auxiliary products that extend the working time are part of the range as well, and with flesh that comes in useful most of all. The volume of the package, the covering power and an equivalent according to RAL or FS are not stated here.

An acrylic paint thinnable with water. Shake it thoroughly before use, close the bottle carefully after work and wash the brushes out while the paint is wet. Keep out of the reach of children.
