A clear yellow for tinting. Over polished silver it gives brass and gold, and on clear parts it serves for headlights and position lights. 10 ml.

Clear shades do not cover; they only color what lies underneath. That is exactly where their strength is. Applied over perfectly smooth silver, it turns the surface into brass, after a second coat into old gold and after a third into dark bronze. The result stands or falls with the surface underneath: every scratch or brush mark is emphasized under a clear coat instead of disappearing.
The second area is clear parts. Reflectors, marker lights and older types of aircraft position lights are painted from the inside or by dipping, so that the outer surface stays glossy and smooth. Car modelers reach for yellow for fog lights and for tinting glass as well.
An airbrush and several very thin coats give the best results. A brush tends to show as streaks, because a clear film gives away every uneven application. Thinning the paint more and going over the surface repeatedly, rather than in one heavy coat, will help.
The binder is thinned with water and stays glossy once dry, so a varnish can be applied over it with no intermediate step. Mixing a small amount into a clear varnish creates a warm filter with which the metal surfaces of an engine or exhaust pipes can be unified. The container holds 10 ml.
Tinting shades settle on the needle and the nozzle of an airbrush more readily than covering paints, because they carry less pigment and more binder. Rinse the tool at once, while the film is still soft; a clear coat that has dried is considerably harder to remove than the remains of an ordinary flat paint.
