1:72 Sd.Kfz. 251 Wheel Set Type 3 – Fulda Gelände

Transport bags in 1:35 scale

The set brings transport bags in 1:35 scale, that is the baggage in which soldiers and crews carry personal equipment and materiel. The real subjects are bags made of nylon, as the name states. On a diorama this is exactly the kind of small thing that makes the difference between a cleanly built model and a scene that looks lived in: an empty cargo bed or a bare patch looks sterile, and a couple of bags set down turns them into a place where something is going on.

Where to use them

• on the cargo bed and the fenders of a vehicle as stowed cargo
• beside figures, at their feet or over a shoulder
• in a pile by a tent, by a shelter or by a loading ramp
• inside an open vehicle, where emptiness would otherwise gape

Building and painting tips

Cut the surplus material and the traces of manufacture off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, because cement for polystyrene does not prove itself here. Do not bring the bags together into one shade of color: real equipment is faded and dusty to differing degrees, so alternate the shades and dust the lower edges with pigment or a dry brush.

Who the set is for

The set is for builders of military vehicles and dioramas in 1:35 scale who are short of cargo and equipment for a finished scene. The number of pieces in the package, their dimensions and the material are stated in the manufacturer's description and photographs. A vehicle model, figures, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
