A gray-green shade from the Abteilung 502 acrylic line. A muted green shifted toward gray is very versatile in modeling: it suits interiors, gear, fabrics and areas that are to look faded rather than saturated. The binder is acrylic, it is thinned with water or a thinner for acrylics, and it does not mix with oil and enamel products in a wet coat.
An acrylic paint lasts a long time, but only when it is handled correctly. The pigment gradually settles to the bottom, so before every use shake the bottle thoroughly or stir the contents until the mass is uniform. Paint residues on the thread and the neck are the most common reason why a bottle will not close after a time or cannot be opened at all: wipe them off with a damp cloth right after pouring out. Paint is never returned from the palette to the bottle, because water, dirt and remains of other shades get into it. Store in a dry place, out of direct sunlight and never in frost, because freezing damages the acrylic binder permanently and the paint breaks down into a curdled mass once thawed. If the paint thickens, thinning it slightly with water usually brings it back into shape; curdled contents no longer can be saved.
