Interior Green is a lighter green with a yellow-green cast, listed in the Federal Standard 595 swatch book under number 34151. The leading 3 marks the swatch book's matte group, and the 4 in second place marks the green family. The name refers to use inside the aircraft, that is, where the coat does not serve a camouflage role but protects the surface.
Interior shades are applied to parts you will only see through the canopy or open covers once assembly is done: cockpit walls, bulkheads, the insides of landing gear bays, frames and spars. That is exactly why they are painted early, before the fuselage is glued together. The lighter green tone also does not swallow detail inside the cockpit the way a dark paint would. It also suits the inner sides of covers and doors that stay open on the finished model.
Wash and degrease the parts; this matters doubly for small parts, since finger grease transfers onto them easily. Apply the paint thinly so the fine relief of instrument panels and frames stays legible. Once dry, the interior stands out if you give the areas a darker wash and carefully highlight the edges with a lighter tone. Mask only once the coat has dried. Thin it with thinner from the same paint line; the manufacturer's instructions give the ratio.
For aircraft builders who paint the cockpit and interior parts before closing up the model. The package contains one 17 ml bottle of paint; thinner and other accessories are not included, unless stated otherwise.
