A tiny bar with a cross section smaller than the head of a pin is among the finest that can sensibly be built from plastic. It will find use on the small frames of instrument panels, the guide rails of sliding doors, the ribs of radiators, grab handles, stops, the edging of cab windows and even on suggesting the stitching or the cords on figure accessories. Where a heavier strip would give away the wrong proportion at once, this profile stays inconspicuous.
The cross section measures 0.38 by 0.75 millimeters and one rod is 35 centimeters long. It is ordered by the piece, which is practical with material this small: an ordinary build uses up only a few centimeters.
Material of this size is best worked with tweezers with fine tips, and dose the cement with a piece of wire dipped into the bottle, not with a brush. Do not throw the offcuts onto the table but into a shallow dish, or they will disappear. Before bending, hold the piece over steam for a moment, or it will break instead of curving.
Keep the rod in a stiff tube or between two strips of cardboard, because in an open box it easily breaks under the weight of the other material. Write the designation of the dimension straight onto the packaging; with cross sections this small you will not tell them apart by eye alone.
Around this dimension the range offers several close variants and the differences between them amount to mere tenths of a millimeter. On the finished model it nevertheless shows whether a strip overhangs a touch or fits exactly. Anyone who builds interiors regularly usually keeps two or three neighboring thicknesses side by side.
