Spray Chameleon Toxic Purple from Green Stuff World

An effect spray from the Chameleon range. The name of the shade points to purple, but with this range purple is only the starting point: the perceived color shifts with the angle of view and with the light falling on the surface. The paint is ready to spray straight from the pressurized can, without thinning and without an airbrush.

What is worth knowing in advance. Effect shades behave differently on a finished model than on a small sample, and a great deal depends on how smooth and uniform the base is. It pays off to spray a test patch onto a scrap part and look at it in daylight and in artificial light.

How the spray is applied

• Shake the can for at least a minute, because effect pigments sink to the bottom.
• Spray from a distance of roughly twenty to thirty centimeters, in a smooth movement, starting off the model.
• Apply several thin layers and let them become tacky between coats, because one thick layer suppresses the effect.
• Let the can and the model come to room temperature and work in dry conditions.
• After spraying, turn the can upside down and blow the nozzle through.

The base decides the outcome. Under a striking effect paint every sanding mark and fingerprint stands out. Smooth and unify the surface first, therefore, and try the masking and any final varnish in advance on an offcut.

Who the spray is for

It is a paint for science fiction and fantasy models, wargaming miniatures, display bases, accessories and custom work, where the surface is meant to look conspicuous. For historical equipment with a period finish it is not suitable.

A pressurized container. The contents are flammable. Spray outdoors or in a well ventilated space, away from open flame and sources of sparks, do not breathe the aerosol in and protect your eyes and skin. Do not expose the can to direct sunlight or heat and do not pierce it. Keep out of the reach of children.
