Tamiya XF-71 Cockpit Green (IJN) (Enamel) is a flat enamel (synthetic, solvent-based) modeling paint in a 10 ml bottle: the interior green of the cockpits of Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft. It is thinned with X-20 thinner, not the acrylic X-20A.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a modeling paint, not a kit. Specifically an enamel, that is a solvent-based (synthetic) paint from Tamiya in a bottle of 10 ml. The XF range means a flat finish. The abbreviation IJN denotes the Imperial Japanese Navy and the manufacturer intends the shade Cockpit Green for the inside of the pilot's cockpit of Japanese naval aircraft of the Second World War, typically the Zero fighters.
This is an interior (cockpit) paint. It belongs on the inner walls of the cockpit, the instrument panel, the seat frame, the floor and the inner faces of the canopy, not on the upper camouflage surfaces of the fuselage and wings. The external dark green skin has its own shades in the Tamiya palette (XF-11 J.N. Green or XF-70 Dark Green 2, for instance); do not confuse XF-71 with them, because that is the most common mistake in painting Japanese aircraft.
This variant of XF-71 is the enamel and is thinned with X-20 enamel thinner (without the letter A). The acrylic version of the same number is water thinnable and is used with X-20A, and the thinners cannot be swapped. For spraying, the manufacturer recommends about 2 parts thinner to 10 parts paint.
For aircraft modelers building Japanese naval machines of the Second World War who want a faithful interior and work with enamels. Stir the bottle before use.
Safety: flammable. It irritates the airways, so work in a well ventilated space and use respiratory protection when spraying. Keep out of the reach of children.
