An injection-molded plastic kit of the early version of the German dive bomber Junkers Ju 87A Stuka in the large 1:24 scale from the manufacturer Trumpeter. The large scale allows a richly broken-up surface, a detailed pilot's compartment and well worked-out landing gear bays. The model is meant for gluing and painting and makes a striking centerpiece in a display case.
The Ju 87A was the first production version of the famous Stuka, taken into service in the second half of the 1930s. The early version is recognizable by its more angular engine cowling and the massive fairings over the fixed landing gear, and the type is known for its wailing sirens. The A version came before the later, more powerful B and D variants and took part in the fighting of the Spanish Civil War as well.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, fill the seams where needed and sand them down. Apply a primer before painting; an airbrush handles the large areas of this scale evenly. Paint and pick out the pilot's compartment and the landing gear bays before the fuselage is closed up; flat clear coats and pigments help with period weathering.
