A sheet with German military license plates for models of military equipment in 1:35 scale. A license plate is a small item on a model, but a decisive one: without it a vehicle looks like a museum exhibit, with it like a machine in service. It also suits cases where a kit has no plates of its own, or where you want to set a particular vehicle apart from the other models on the shelf. Which combinations of letters and numerals the sheet contains is stated by the manufacturer of the set.
Vehicles of the German armed forces carried a license plate with a letter prefix that distinguished the individual branches; for the ground forces it was WH. The plates tended to be fitted to the front and the rear of a vehicle, and on tracked equipment often to the fenders or straight onto the hull plate. A sister item from the same supplier covers Luftwaffe plates.
Elements of this kind are usually applied as waterslide decals: even the surface under them out with gloss varnish, cut the motif close to the printing, dip it briefly in lukewarm water, and once it releases from the backing paper move it into place and settle it with a soft brush. Blot the excess water off, let the joint dry undisturbed and finally unify the surface with matte varnish. Before you wet the sheet, however, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive rendering. A wetted self-adhesive film is ruined beyond saving, whereas a waterslide decal that has not been wetted can be wetted later.
The kit, paints, varnishes and softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
